Abstract des Autors
In 11 sportsmen (7 males, 4 females) between 12 and 53 years a "sports injury" or an "overuse syndrome" was diagnosed and treated conservatively and/or operatively (3 patients). Finally a tumor was identified as the cause of the complaints. The time between the onset of the complaints and the tumorectomy ranged from 4 weeks (fibrous dysplasia) up to 16 years (parossal osteosarcoma). 5 of the 6 benign and all of the 5 malign (3 parossal osteosarcoma, 1 osteosarcoma, 1 giant cell tumor) were located at the leg, mostly near the knee region.
