Abstract des Autors

Physical therapy is gaining an increasing relevance for diseases of the system of supporting and connective tissue as well as in cases of overload. For some time the method of magnetic field therapy (static and dynamic) has been preferred with the diseases mentioned above and in therapy during the regenerative phase after physical stress. We investigated the effects of magnetic field therapy on the passive-mechanic characteristics of muscles before and after a standardized load on a bicycle ergometer. Under normal conditions no changes of the passive-mechanic features (elasticity, plasticity, viscosity) were observed. An immediate therapy of stressed thigh muscles (30 min, 75 W) led to a normalization of the parameters mentioned above. The changes of parameters known from former tests were improved with the help of magnetic field therapy during regeneration. Under comparable conditions of stress or load without magnetic field therapy the original values were reached after 24 hours only, but with the help of magnetic field therapy the original status was reached already after one hour (n=10). The purpose of this paper is to present first results only and to stimulate further discussions of the application of this interesting method. Verf.-Referat
