Abstract des Autors
From an orthopaedic point of view rehabilitation means recovery from injuries and from reactions of previous overload and also the reintegration of the load capacity of the injured tissues as well as the whole body. The objective in the rehabilitation of sportsmen is to restore them to their original form, using concepts of physical therapy and exercise. Rehabilitation starts with the therapy of sports trauma and ends with the rehabilitation of sports performance. The direct goal of rehabilitation is not only to influence and use tissue repair and compensation mechanisms but also to remove the causes of the present and possible future injuries and reactions to overloads. Thus rehabilitation includes prophylaxis of sports trauma. And if the risk of new trauma is lowered by optimizing movement ranges and movement control rehabilitation also provides the chance for better sports-performance. Verf.-Referat
