Abstract des Autors
This study examines alterations of immunological, endocrinological and psychological parameters caused by physical as well as by psychological stress. For this purpose a baseline is compared with measurements after exhaustive short term physical stress and before a national competition. 26 athletes of both genders are examined (members of the respective national championship or qualifying rounds). Serum concentrations of IL-1RA, IL-6, sIL-6R and sICAM-1 and of pituitary hormones (ACTH, GH, PRL) increase whereas IL-1 and sIL-2R did not change under physical stress. The latter however decreases before psychological stress while only ACTH increases. Furthermore, we found decreases of anxiety after physical stress and only slight increases before psychological stress. Verf.-Referat
