Abstract des Autors
Clinical and statistical follow-up of alpine skiing knee injuries is illustrated, and a comparison is made between their progress and outcome and their diagnosis and treatment at a first-aid centre. The data collected in a retrospective survey using questionnaires showed that the medial compartment was more frequently injured, and that resumption of skiing was inversely proportional to the gravity of the injury. The incidence of isolated ACL injuries was higher than that of isolated meniscal injuries, whereas the incidence of acute haemarthris in these lesions was low. There was a significant correspondence between the initial diagnosis and that indicated by subsequent instrumental examination. Correct diagnosis and appropriate immediate treatment proved fundamental in the resumption of skiing and in the clinical progress and resolution of the more serious injuries. Verf.-Referat
