Abstract des Autors

36 healthy persons had to run on a treadmill under defined conditions at a constant speed of 8 km/h. Pressure in the anterior flexor-muscles compartment was regulary measured before, during and after running. The runners were divided into three groups based on characterisstic pressure courses: the normal type with average values below 50 mm/Hg, the indifference type with a distinctly higher pressure than 50 mm/Hg and the risk type with values more than 70 mm/Hg. A correlation between exercise pressure and time of post-exercising decrease of pressure was found. In all three groups the starting pressure was not reached within 6 minutes. However, the biggest difference was documented in group three. The most reliable parameter for judging intracompartmental pressure is the proceeding pressure curve. Using single measurement methods the documentation at the end and/or 6 minutes after exercise is preferable.
