Abstract des Autors
In a prospective ultrasound study 51 patients with questionable meniscal tears were examined. 7.5 MHz transducers were used for the prearthroscopic evaluation. The comparison of sonographic and arthroscopic findings showed: Exact meniscal imaging was possible when valgus and varus stress were applied. The accuracy ranged between 82% and 55%, depending on the kind of lesion. The diagnosis of degenerative lesions and of vertical concentric tears showed the best results. Therefore sonogrpahic evaluation of the meniscus tends to become a promising assisting diagnostic method. Verf.-Referat
