Abstract des Autors
Investigators in sports medicine experienced in applied integrative physiology of humans under extreme conditions are invited to participate in the challenge of space-medicine. The international long-term objective is obviously to prepare men for a voyage to Mars, the goal of the German space programme is to utilise weightlessness as a tool to understand adaptation processes. The German Spacelab-mission D-2 will fly a new facility - Anthrorack - which is specially designed for investigations on humans providing a fully equipped laboratory for various possible investigations including exercise stimulation. Our department participates with an experiment on determination of work capacity during the mission which might be impaired by the comitant immobilisation. The future programme is open for everyone who is able to contribute excellent ideas for research. Verf.-Referat
