The main emphases in most all training plans of the hammer throw are: 1. The development of technical elements; 2. The improvement of rhythmic structures. One aspect of the throw that can effect the rhythmic structure of the hammer is the start. There area variety of different starts that have been successfully employed by hammer throwers at all levels. Experience has shown that the most efficient method of introducing a young athlete to hammer throwing is through the development of proper leg work. But, proper foot work must be preceded by a balanced and comfortable start. One possible alternative that many athletes have successfully used is the dynamic start. This article will examine the dynamic start in the hammer employed in a four turn throw and will discuss the advantages anddisadvantages of this technique. Verf.-Referat
