Abstract des Autors
Modifications of serum myosin beta chain related to muscular activity were investigated. The data resulting from this investigation indicate that the serum myosin beta chain is markedly influenced by the physiological myofibrillar breakdown which occurs during exercise, sometimes reaching values similar to those observed in myocardial infarction. During exercise, serum myosin beta chain also acutely increases by 23, unrelated to hemoconcentration. Nutritional conditions (eg fasting) as well as eccentric muscular contraction may be factors increasing serum myosin beta chain leakage by the myofibrils. High (> 1000 micro-U/l) values of serum myosin beta chain are frequently found in sportsmen, mostly in overtraining states, suggesting that high values of serum myosin beta chain may be a non-specific but sensitive marker of overtraining in athletes.
