Abstract
Closed tendon injuries of the hand and wrist in the athlete are not uncommon. It is important to diagnose these injuries early for optimum treatment. This article discusses mallet injuries, boutonniere injuries, traumatic dislocation of the extensor digitorum communis at the metacarpal phalangeal joint, traumatic subluxating extensor carpi ulnaris, and rupture and avulsion of the profundus tendon.
