Abstract
The small joints of the fingers and thumb are vulnerable to injury in nearly all popular sports. This article discusses the common injury patterns and their proper treatment. Accurate diagnosis and treatment may prevent long-term disability in the athlete and need not preclude early return to participation in sports. Verf.-Referat
