Abstract

In this article results are described of an evaluation study of the effects of advises given to injured sportsmen, who visited a sports medical advise center (SMA). For this study all injuries of three SMA in 1986 were selected and evaluated by telephone inquiry. About 85 of the patients were reached and the cooperation was 100. Conclusions are that the SMA is mostly visited by chronically injured sportsmen, especially with knee injuries. Before they visited the SMA 2/3 of them already had therapy without result. At 2/3 of the sportsmen the complaints were much better or disappeared, after they visited the SMA. Over 90 of the patients were (very) content. Last conclusion is: the SMA can play an important role in advising of therapy, revalidation and prevention of sports injuries. Verf.-Referat
