Abstract

Clavicle fractures are divided into three main types; medial, middle, or distal. They result from either direct trauma, or falling on the outstretched arm. All of the subjects in this study had clavicle fractures due to direct trauma. All received their fractures while bicycling. The problem of clavicle fracture in bicyclists may be quite common. A simple protective device, sorbothane, placed over the clavicle while bicycling, may help to reduce clavicle fractures, and the associated complications. It has been shown to dissipate the forces associated with impact. Verf.-Referat
