Abstract
In this paper some basic theoretical issues concerning the disciplinary construction of school physical education as a branch of sport science were preliminarily studied. The research objects, functions, scientific nature and attribution, and the developing trends of the study were analyzed, so as to lay a theoretical basis for the further development of school physical edcuation.
