Abstract
The authors followed the serum levels of components of the lipid metabolism in course of long distance triathlon. The low initial values of serum lipids confirm the favourable influence of regular physical training. In the course of the acute load there was a significant increase of HDL cholesterol and decrease of triglycerol, manifesting the adaption of the trained organism to the load presented by the long distance competitions.
