Abstract
This article reviews the benefits and limitations of the EMG examination for assessing patients with suspected sports-related nerve lesions. The various components of the nerve conduction studies and the needle electrode examination, and how they are affected by various types of pathophysiology, are described. The experience of our EMG laboratory with sports-related nerve lesions - type, location, and sports engaged in - are reviewed. Finally, some disorders that can affect the shoulder girdle region of athletes are detailed. Verf.-Referat
