Abstract

To study the relation between some regularly applied endurance tests 12 women (24.7 yrs +/- 2.5) and 28 men (27.8 yrs +/- 4.8) performed the 12 minute Cooper test (CT), the Shuttleruntest (SRT) and the submaximal Astrand test (AT). Test-retest results showed no significant differences but for SRT (i.e. 0.5 step). The correlation-coefficients between SRT and CT for the women and the men are 0.90 and 0.81 respectively; between CT and AT 0.60 and 0.37; between SRT and AT 0.37 and 0.61. It is tentatively concluded that CT and SRT do measure in essence the same `capacity and that the choice for application is a matter of conveniency. Furthermore that CT of SRT cannot be substituted by the AT, or vice-versa. Verf.-Referat
