Abstract
An approach for the improvement of the reproducibility of electromyographical data is presented along with a set of experimental data to verify the rationale. It is argued that a greater area of electrode coverage of a muscle will include more depolarising muscle fibres and therefore present a better electrical centre of gravity of the muscle as a whole. Increasing the number of repetitions in order to gather more data should have the same effect. The centre of electrical gravity is less prone to variation due to complicating factors in electrode technique which normally adversely affects the reproducibility of electromyographical data.
