Abstract

Studies on twenty-three young athletes on the the mechanism of sports anemia which is a serious problem in athletes were carried out. Na, K-ATPase activity of the erythrocyte membrane, hemoglobin (Hb) concentration and osmotiv fragility of red blood cells (RBCs) were determined at rest and after exercise. The eerythrocyte membrane proteins were analysed by SDS-plyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE). The results showed that theHb concentration and the osmotic fragility of RBCs did not have significant changes, but the Na, K-ATPase activity increased remarkably and the composition of erythrocyte membrane proteins changed obviously after exercise. The increase of the RBCs Na, K-ATPase activity after exercise was regarded as a physiological response to sports. Verf.-Referat
