Abstract
The roentgen examination of the cervical spine is essential after an athlete has experienced a possible cervical spine injury in order to exclude a possible life-threatening pre-vertebral soft-tissue hemorrhage and/or an unstable osseous injury in which any movement of the cervical spine may further compromise the patients neurologic status.
