Abstract

One of the main aims of rehabilitation of patient after stroke is to regain the optimal efficiency of gait. The use of biofeedback is one of the latest trends in rehabilitation and walk learning. The observed group (patients with hemiparesis caused by a stroke) beside the ordinary rehabilitation program, took part in the daily course of walking with on elbow crutch equipped with acoustic and light signalling that turns on when the crutch is loaded too much. In the control group, rehabilitation has been conducted by means of traditional methods and by functional electrostimulation method (FES). The results show that the introduction of the new method to the walking education of patients with hemiparesis has proved to be very useful. It seems that this method is more adopted by patients and is less troublesome in everyday use than the easily popular FES. Verf.-Referat
