Abstract
Epidemiological data of orofacial traumata are scarce and hardly ever representative of a whole population. This article gives a review of publications of orofacial traumata of the last fifteen years. A distinction is made between (epidemiological) research of dental and maxillo-facial traumata. It appears that dental traumata mainly occur with the central maxillar incisors of both the deciduous and the permanent dentition. These traumata mostly occur as fractures confined to enamel or involving both enamel and dentin. Verf.-Referat
