Abstract

A significant increase in beta-2-microglobulin concentration in human plasma was observed immediately after exercise (bicycle ergometer, about 75 VO2max for 30 min), but it disappeared after 30-min rest. The mean percentage increase in beta-2-microglobulin concentration (+23.9) was larger than the calculated loss of plasma volume (-14.5). On the other hand, plasma alpha-1-microglobulin concentration did not vary substantially at any time after exercise. A discrepancy between the plasma levels of these low molecular weight proteins was found under short physical exercise. Verf.-Referat
