Abstract des Autors

Exercise kinetics of ventilation (VI, VE), pulmonary gas exchange (VO2 and VCO2), and heart rate (HR) were studied in 14 patients with severely impaired right ventricular function. There were 10 males (mean age 15.6 years, range 6 to 21 years) and 4 females (mean age 17.3 years, range 13 to 19 years). Ten had tricuspid atresia and 4 others had functionally similar complex congenital cardiac defects. Ten had been surgically ocrrected by a Fontan procedure.
