Abstract
Traumatic pathology of the shoulder in sports is discussed under the etiopathogenetic acute and chronic standpoint, particularly considering its specific occurrence in the practice of some sports. Special attention has been devot ed to the phase of rehabilitation of the shoulder joint after various treatments of the lesions, in the effort to restore as soon as possible the physiologic function of the joint. Concerning some sports, we stressed the correlation between some types of lesion, pointing out the need to analyze the problem both with preventive and therapeutic aims. In- and out-patients of four years activity (1977-1980) of the Centro di Traumatologia dello Sport of the Institute G. Pini, Milan, were described. Verf.-Referat
