Abstract

Fifteen male adults (7 long-distance runners, 8 students without any regular training or sports programme) were examined for their aerobic performance capacity as well as for their muscle enzyme activity patterns. While there were no differences in the activities of creatine and pyruvate kinase, decreases of -18 in hexose-phosphate-isomerase and of -31 in lactate-dehydrogenase activity were found in the endurance trained group. In contrast to that, the activities of the citrate-cycle-enzymes investigated increased by about 20 . In addition, improvements were also found in the aminotransaminase activities (about 40 ) in the trained subjects. Further interest was given to the amino-acid-arylpeptidases activity in the groups tested. Verf.-Referat
