Abstract
The book emphasizes safety and the prevention of injury and describes the treatment of those injuries which do occur. Having surveyed the treatment of muscle, joint and skin injuries the authors then discuss those injuries which commonly occur in each part of the body. For each injury the same type of information is given - Is it safe to treat the injury or is expert advice needed? What first aid should be given? what steps should be taken by the player in the first twenty-four hours after injury to speed the recovery process?
