Abstract
Electrocardiographical characteristics of athletes express adaptation, i.e. morphological and functional changes of heart and vegetative nervous system under the influence of training. The authors describe the level of such changes on random selection of Belgrade population of 18 years olds (N = 6.570), comparing the incidence within the group of athletes (N = 2.383) having an ave rage training period of 2,4 years and the group of subjects not actively going in for sports (N = 4.187).
