Physical per-formance is impaired using them rather than improved, and that not only in such sports which require exceptional endurance, but also during moderate exercise. Nevertheless, the same drugs are important and valuable agents when used therapeutically in certain pathologic states, such as the hypercircula- tory syndrome, mild arterial hypertension, and disorders of coronary circula- tion in which they may be used either as a single means of treatment or in combination with physical activity in the form of medical gymnastics.
