Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to survey data obtained by examining the sports- men of Novi Sad aged 16-25. The juvenile hypertension is evident in 2,78 sportsmen (5700 male subjects examined) and 0.63 sportswomen (783 female subjects examined). The first group of 36 patients was treated by sedative Nobrium (Medazepam) of which 10 mg was taken three times per day. The treat- ment was successful in the case of 11 patients (29) but unsuccessful in the case of 25 patients (71). The second group of 97 patients was treated by beta blockators (propranolol hydrochlorid). The treatment was successful in the case of 61 patients (62 ) but unsuccessful in 36 patients (38 ). The third group of 20 juvenile hypertension patients was treated by combination ofbeta blockators and diuretics (moduretic). The treatment was successful in thecase of 10 patients (50 ) while it was unsuccessful in the other 10 patients (50 ). It can be concluded, from this report, that the most successful treat-ment of juvenile hypertension sportsmen is obtained when using beta blockatorsor combination of beta blockators and diuretics.
