Abstract

Serum concentrations of CK, LDH and myoglobin have been evaluated in healthy subjects, and in trained and untrained athletes at rest and in the last two groups at the end and 4, 8, 24 hours after a soccer match. The results obtained show resting athletes have higher CK, LDH values than healthy subjects while myoglobin concentration does not show any significant differ- ence. After a soccer match, both trained and untrained athletes show an increase of myoglobin values while CK and LDH values increase only in untrained athletes. In conclusion resting CK and LDH values may indicate physical fitness while myoglobin determination is of no use for this purpose. In athletes, the training period induces an almost maximal efflux of CK and LDH which is not further increased by acute exercise. Verf.-Referat
