Abstract
Volley-ball injuries in competitive athletes are reviewed clinically and statistically and all intrinsic and extrinsic factors with respect to players and which might interfere with the pathogenesis of lesions are considered analytically. It is maintained that precise knowledge of these injuries, in termsnot only of their type and frequency but, above all, as aetiopathogenetic modalities, is the only basis for a valid prophylactic and therapeutic program.
