Abstract

Following the previous investigations done in our department in 1958, we have studied a population of sportsmen of 185 subjects. The research has shown that HDL-cholesterol raises as a result of training. At the same time, the level of triglycerides tends to decrease. We have reviewed 26 cases of alphalipoproteins previous studied in 1960. All these cases had continued their training until 1980. In spite of aging, we have not observed any decrease of the alpha-lipoproteins level. The study of the modifications of HDL-cholesterol in subjects submitted to an effort showed a typical curve with: an initialdecrease of HDL-cholesterol at the 30th minute of the effort; a rise of the initial level at the 120th minute; a second decrease after the 180th minute. At this time the level of HDL-cholesterol remained higher than the initial value. The study of the variations of the arterial-venous delta of HDL-cholesterol has shown in the arterial blood a value of HDL-cholesterol 5 higher than in the venous blood. Perhaps does physical activity stimulate the synthesis of native HDL in hepatocytes. Verf.-Referat
