Abstract
The types of defective sight serving as contraindications to the practice of certain forms of sport are briefly summarised. A full picture is given of the examinations that should be carried out to enable a reliable judgment to be passed concerning the orientation of subjects towards the practice of individual sport, with a view to protecting intending sportsmen from unnecessary andapparently inexplicable mediocre results.
