Das Körperschema ist als ein bestehendes Muster im kognitiven Prozess der subjektiven Beurteilung räumlicher Dimensionen des Körpers und der Körperteile zu verstehen. Es entwickelt sich aus der Gesamtheit der taktilen, kinästhetischen und visuellen Erfahrungen im Verlaufe des menschlichen Lebens und enthält bewusste und unbewusste Anteile. Verf. stellt die Entwicklung des Begriffs historisch dar, besonders die Modelle von HEAD (1920) und PICK (1915) sowie Ansichten von AUERSPERG und PLUEGGE hierzu, weiterhin die Konzeptionen von SCHILDER (1935), CONRAD (1933), POECK und ORGASS (1964), BISCHOF (1966), SCHONTZ (1969), FISHER und CLEVELAND (1968), SECORD und JOURARD u.a. Verf. nimmt an, dass der empirischen Erforschung des Körperschemas in der Zukunft mehr Bedeutung beigemessen wird im Hinblick auf die Motorik des Sportlers, die Psychodiagnostik, die Diagnose von Verhaltensstörungen und die Aufstellung sporttherapeutischer Programme. Abstract

The author tries to define clearly here the concept body image with regard to theories of movement. An outline of the historical development shows that the first investigations were performed on clinical cases. The concept had originally been adopted from psychopathology and has since been transferred to extra-clinical areas. The clinical results indicate that the body image plays an important role in human movement. Phenomenological and anthropological approaches have since resulted in a variety of interpretations of the concept body image. As yet there is no relevant interpretation for the theory of movement which could be applied in sport theory; the clinical interpretation is still the one most often referred to. The author summarizes today's literature, analyses the variety of approaches and suggests an interpretation of body image. Verf.-Referat

L'article présent essaie d'établir une définition de la notion «schéma corporel» sous l'aspect de la cinématique. L'auteur retrace d'abord l'évolution historique. Les premières études remontent au domaine clinique. La notion empruntée à la psychopathologie a été appli- quée de plus en plus à des besoins extracliniques. Les résultats cliniques indiquent que le «schéma corporel» joue un rôle prépondérant pour le mouvement humain. Des études phénoménologiques et anthropologiques ont entraîné des interprétations différentes de la notion «schéma corporel». Une définition conceptuelle du cette notion applicable tant à la cinématique que la théorie du sport, n'existe pas; on se sert le plus souvent de son contenu clinique. En résumant la littérature présente, l'auteur soumet les différents essais d'interprétation à un examen analytique et propose une définition de la notion «schéma corporel». Verf.-Referat
