Abstract des Autors

The performance of activities of daily living (ADL) is frequently impaired in chronic stroke patients, often leading to hazardous behaviors and limited independence in their daily life. Also, stroke patients are generally of advanced age. To better understand the impact of stroke one also has to take into account a potential impact of age. Quantitative analyses of stroke and age-effects on complex activities of daily-living are rare. To that aim, the present study preliminarily compared the kinematics of a typical ADL in young and elderly individuals and in stroke patients. (geändert)
