Abstract des Autors
AIM: The aim of the present research was to analyze the effect of a maximum anaerobic Wingate test on central nervous system (CNS) and cortical arousal in trained cyclists. METHODS: We analyzed 8 trained cyclists (65.8±5.6 kg, 175.5±6.0 cm, 16.7±0.8 years, 10.9±2.5% fat, 33.1±3.83 kg muscular mass, VO2max [mL/kg/min], 60.9±4.1, VO2max [mL]: 4027.8±287.5). Participants conducted before and after a Wingate test a critical flicker fusion threshold test (CFFTT) to analyze cortical arousal and fatigue of CNS. RESULTS: After the Wingate test, cortical arousal increased since the variable of sensorial sensibility analyzed in CFFTT increased (33.35±8.04 vs. 34.37±8.95 Hz). CONCLUSION: Wingate test increase cortical arousal and does not cause fatigue of the central nervous system, fatigue during these exertions are probably a peripheral phenomenon.
