Abstract

In diesem Beitrag werden die theoretische Begründung und die Entwicklung einer Methode zur Messung und Beschreibung komplexer hierarchischer Strukturen in Gruppierungen (z. B. Sportmannschaften) sowie deren Überprüfung im Rahmen einer ersten empirischen Anwendung thematisiert. Zur theoretischen Fundierung werden soziologische Theorien zur Statuskristallisation problemadäquat weiterentwickelt. Ziele der Anwendung dieses Verfahrens sind zum einen die Überprüfung eines möglichen Zusammenhangs zwischen Mannschaftsleistungen und Mannschaftsstrukturen, zum anderen die Steuerung von Mannschaftsleistungen auf der Basis der so gewonnenen Ergebnisse. Erste empirische Ergebnisse aus der Untersuchung von fünf Männer-Fußball- und drei Männer-Handballmannschaften in unterschiedlichen Spielklassen weisen in die Richtung, daß der Erfolg mit steigender "Konsistenz" und mit sinkender "Homogenität" der Mannschaften wächst. Künftige Untersuchungen müssen darüber hinaus überprüfen, wie das aus der Mannschaftsstruktur resultierende Konfliktpotential die Mannschaftsleistung beeinflußt. Verf.-Referat

Abstract

The focus of this paper is on the theoretical explanation and the development of a method for measuring and describing complex hierarchical structures of small groups (e.g. sport teams). Furthermore this method is tested during a first empirical application. Sociological theories of status crystallisation are taken as the theoretical basis and are developed further in a way which is adequate to the problem. The method developed aims at examining possible links between team success and team structures and the control of team performance on the basis of the results obtained this way. First empirical results of the investigation of five male soccer and three male team handball teams of different leagues show that with increasing team "consistence" and with decreasing team "homogeneity" there is an increase in team success. Further research is necessary to analyse the links between the conflict potential resulting from team structure and team success. Verf.-Referat

Abstract

Les auteurs expliquent la construction de méthodes pour mesurer et décrire des structures hiérarchiques complexes dans des groupements tels que les équipes sportives. Ensuite, ils contrôlent la validité de ces méthodes à l'exemple d'une première application. Afin de donner une justification théorique, ils évoluent des théories sociologiques de cristallisation de statuts en les appliquant aux problèmes donnés. En se servant de ces méthodes on essaye de reconnaître des rapports entre les performances et les structures d'équipes d'un côte et, de l'autre côté, on essaye de régler les performances collectives sur la base des résultats acquis. De premiers résultats issus des travaux réalisés auprès de cinq équipes masculines de football et de trois équipes masculines de handball appartenant toutes à des ligues différentes montrent que le succès d'une équipe est lié à une "consistance d'équipes" accroissante et une "homogénéité d'équipes" décroissante. Dans l'avenir, d'autres études devront examiner l'influence du potentiel de conflit résultant de la structure d'une équipe sur la performance de l'équipe. Verf.-Referat
