Abstract

Mit dem Hintergrund der UN- Behindertenrechtskonvention und der Aufforderung auf verschiedenen Ebenen zu handeln werden nachfolgend die Projekte beschrieben, welche der Behindertensportverband NW in Zuordnung zu den Paralympics London auf den Weg gebracht hat und in Zukunft weiter verfolgen wird. Der Verband geht damit seine Aufgabe an und trifft weitere Absprachen mit dem Landessportbund und den Vereinen bzw. den Schulen und den weiteren Trägern zur Betreuung von Menschen mit Behinderung. Einige Projekte werden wissenschaftlich begleitet, sollen später ausgewertet werden und anderen Landesverbänden bzw. Organisationen zur Verfügung gestellt werden. Verf.-Referat

Abstract

As to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (art. 3) people with disabilities should have access to full and effective participation an inclusion in society. Sport as structured and organized in Germany will be affected. Activities on occasion of the Olympic and Paralympics Games of London 2012 are organized and supported by the State Sports Federation of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Sports Federation for people with disabilities of North Rhine-Westphalia (BSNW) will show the way to “inclusive sports”. There are three projects. “Challenge”, “Inspiration” and “Excellence” are working in different areas. “Excellence” is a project that tries to fit young elite athletes – with and without handicap – together. Starting points for Challenge and Inspiration are joint preparative activities in selected towns. The Paralympics Games in London 2012 will be the main point of inclusive experiences in visiting the games. The aim of Excellence is to build up a basis for joint training from 2013 on in Athletics, Swimming and Table Tennis. If the athletes with a disability can be smoothly integrated into the able bodied sports federations and if they are effectively supported the BSNW will transfer his athletes into the respective sport federations until 2016.
