Viele Menschen verbinden mit der Tätigkeit eines Mannschaftsarztes das fernsehwirksame Sprinten auf den Rasen und die schnelle Hilfe per Eisspray. Die eigentliche, fachlich hoch anspruchsvolle sowie sehr organisations- und zeitintensive Arbeit findet jedoch täglich in der Praxis oder bis spät abends im Hotel statt. Die Anforderungen sind vielfältig und umfassen nicht zwingender Weise die operative Spezialisierung, sondern viel mehr die Spezialisierung auf die konservative Orthopädie und Ihre Randgebiete. Dargestellt werden typische Anforderungen und Abläufe im Alltag einer Mannschaftsbetreuung im Spitzenfußball. Verf.-Referat

Many people only regard a team doctor as an “on the pitch”-sprinting physician to supply first aid and immediate help by icespray. However, the real, highly demanding and time intensive work happens in daily practice and until late evening after the match in the hotel rooms. The demands are diverse and do not necessarily require an operative specialisation. Moreover, a broad knowledge in the field of conservative (non-operative) orthopedic diagnosis and treatment techniques is required. In this article typical demands, problems and processes in the daily work of taking care of an elite-level soccer club are shown. Verf.-Referat
