Abstract
The aim of this trial was to study the influence of the equilibrium during the swimming activity respect to the postural equilibrium on land. For this work the authors analyzed two groups: the test group formed by 16 subjects (aged 8-12 years) practicing swimming and rehabilitation exercises, otherwise the control group (12 athletes, same age) did only swimming activity. In this study the authors used the “Correkta Mod. BR/2034” stabilometric machine as initial and final test. The “Correkta Mod. BR/2034” has been used to test the static postural control, and even to test the eyes contribution in the sensorial-feedback. The mean and SD are presented in the table. To evaluate the differences between the two groups the authors employed the T-test, the Mann-Whitney’ test and Wilcoxon’s test for compared the open and closed eyes conditions (P<0.05). At the beginning the authors observed that swimming activity leads to a worsening of equilibrium, but with simple exercises it is possible to prevent it. Results show an improvement or a stabilization of the equilibrium in the test group compared to the control one. The authors think it would be helpful to apply those exercises the training activity to improve the performance of the athletes. Verf.-Referat (geändert)
