Die Fraktur des Processus lateralis tali hat mit der steigenden Popularität des Snowboardsports an Bedeutung gewonnen. Als Frakturmechanismus wird eine axiale Stauchung des dorsalflektierten Sprunggelenks in Verbindung mit einer Außenrotation des Fußes oder Eversion des Rückfußes postuliert. Konventionell radiologisch werden Frakturen des PLT nicht selten übersehen, wodurch sich das Outcome der Behandlung nachhaltig verschlechtert. Der initialen bildgebenden Diagnostik muss deshalb eine besondere Bedeutung zugemessen werden, damit Frakturen ohne Verzögerung diagnostiziert und dem Frakturtyp entsprechend adäquat behandelt werden können. Nicht zuletzt ist das Bewusstsein, dass diese Fraktur leicht mit einer Verletzung des lateralen Kapselbandapparates des Sprunggelenkes verwechselt werden kann, für die Diagnosestellung entscheidend. Abstract des Autors

The fracture of the lateral process of the talus is particularly associated with the increasing popularity of snowboarding. It is due to axial loading of a dorsiflexed ankle with external rotation or eversion. Clinically, these fractures have a similar appearance as major lateral ligament injury of the ankle. This is why fractures of the lateral process of the talus are often missed initially. To optimize the outcome an early diagnosis and a type dependent fracture treatment is mandatory. For this reason a sufficient radiologic examination is needed that fractues can be diagnosed and treated without delay. The key to proper diagnosis of this fracture ist the recognition of their existence. Verf.-Referat
