Abstract
Verf.-Referat
Abstract
The limited use of the potential benefits of regular physical activity encourages us to reflect on the possible causes of this state of affairs. The relevance of evolution has been recognized and exploited in other health science disciplines (evolution medicine, evolutionary psychology). It is therefore necessary to make such considerations in terms of exercise therapy. According to Dobzhansky, „Nothing in biology makes sense – except in the light of evolution.“ This statement also applies to exercise therapy. The article derives from the evolutionary perspective and explains the possible causes of lack of motivation for physical activity and the causes of resultant obesity. Verf.-Referat
