Abstract

Die Entscheidungen über die Vergabe von internationalen Sportereignissen basieren auf demokratisch vereinbarten Regeln. Fair Play ist dabei nicht nur das Prinzip, das die Sportler zu beachten haben. Es soll auch für die Entscheidung der Funktionäre, für die Bewerberstädte und -organisationen gelten. Doch so wie sich im Spitzensport die Praxis von der Theorie ganz wesentlich unterscheidet, gilt dies auch für den ,,Bewerbungssport". So wie es im Hochleistungssport den Dopingbetrug, Korruption und Manipulation gibt, gibt es all dies auch im Bewerbungswettkampf. Verf.-Referat

Abstract

The decisions concerning the awarding of international sport events are based on democratically agreed rules. In this process, fair play is not only the principle that should be adhered to by athletes but this principle should also underlie the decisions of the officials, the bidding cities and the organisations. However, similar to the big difference between theory and practice in top-level sport, there is also insincerity in the "sport of bidding". Doping cheats, corruption and manipulation cannot only be found in top-level sport but in bidding competitions, too. Verf.-Referat
