Abstract

Im Zentrum des Beitrags stehen die Fragen erstens nach der Beurteilung von -Theorien hinsichtlich ihrer theoretischen und ihrer empirischen Aussagekraft und zweitens nach einem möglichen Fortschritt in der Theorieentwicklung. Die Grundlage für die Beantwortung bilden metatheoretische Vorstellungen, wie sie vor allem von Lakatos sowie von Vertretern des Strukturalismus entwickelt worden sind. Bearbeitet werden die Fragen am Beispiel der motorischen Entwicklung: Zunächst werden die gängigen Theorien zur motorischen Entwicklung hinsichtlich ihres theoretischen und empirischen Gehalts analysiert. In einem zweiten Schritt wird für diese Theorien geprüft, ob es sich jeweils um (Weiter-)Entwicklungen handelt oder ob für ihre Entwicklung die Aussage von Lakatos zutreffend ist, „Wissenschaftsgeschichte ohne Wissenschaftsphilosophie ist blind“. Die Diskussion der Fragen zur Aussagekraft und Entwicklung von Theorien wird einleitend erkenntnistheoretisch eingeordnet. Den Abschluss bilden ein Resümee und eine Zusammenstellung von Forschungsdesiderata. Verf.-Referat

Abstract

The focus of this paper is on questions concerning, firstly, the assessment of theories as far as their theoretical and empirical meaningfulness is concerned and, secondly, a potential progress in theory development. The basis of giving an answer to these questions are metatheoretical concepts that were mainly developed both by Lakatos and representatives of structuralism. The questions are dealt with using the example of motor development: First of all, the conventional theories of motor development are analysed as to their theoretical and empirical content. In a second step, it is examined whether these theories are (further) developments or whether their development can be described by the following statement of Lakatos: “Science history without science philosophy is blind”. The discussion of the questions concerning the meaningfulness and the development of theories is initially put into the context of epistemology. The paper ends with a summary and a compilation of research desiderata. Verf.-Referat

Abstract

La contribution met l’accent dans un premier temps sur la question d’évaluation de l’apport théorique et empirique de théories, et s‘interroge dans un deuxième temps sur les possibilités d’avancement dans l’élaboration de théories. Les réponses, renvoyant à l’exemple du développement moteur, font appel à des conceptions métathéoriques telles qu’elles ont été développées notamment par Lakatos et par des représentants du structuralisme. Les théories établies sur le développement moteur seront d’abord analysées quant à leur teneur théorique et empirique. Dans un deuxième pas, il sera vérifié si ces théories constituent des avancements ou si leur évolution montre plutôt le bien-fondé de l’affirmation de Lakatos: „Une histoire de la science sans philosophie de la science est aveugle“. La discussion sur l’apport et l’évolution de théories sera située en introduction dans le cadre de la théorie de la connaissance. La contribution se terminera sur un résumé et sur une énumération de desiderata de la recherche. Verf.-Referat
