Abstract
The Metamax Coitex is a portable telemetric spirographic system. The new Metamax Cortex system has several advantages, e.g. field testing via telemetry up to 2000 meter. It can be operated from -20 to +55°C, calibrated in the field by using ambient air, and is carried in a comfortable back sack. However, the validity of the equipment must be further tested before hypothesis can be investigated. The aim of the present study was to determine the accuracy of the Metamax Coitex system compared with a validated Jaeger EOS Sprint system concerning VO2 at submaximal and maximal work. Further to calculate the linear relationship between VO2 and workload in watt and workload in watt at submaximal work on the ski ergometer measured with both Metamax Cortex and Jaeger EOS Sprint.
