Abstract

All human movements are performed by using energy and are coordinated by motor control processes. Their efficiency is conditioned by the level of specific motor abilities. They are treated as individual complexes of predisposition connected with anatomical and physiological efficiency, functions of nervous system and psychological traits. Depending upon the character of movement, and thus the type of abilities, which determined quality of its performance, the load of specific predisposition is not identical. Basing on logical interpretation and existing research results it is possible to show, that in case of biological background of coordinational abilities there is no dominating role of somatic traits and energetic possibilities. Undoubtedly the decisive role in it is played by the neurophysiological and psychical traits, however it should be empirically confirmed. In this study the trial of describing the relationships among the level of chosen coordinational abilities and psychical traits (characterising the perceptual, cognitive, mnemonic functions), as well as determining the dominant one was undertaken.
