Abstract

The first aim of this research was to determine status of movement coordination in young RSG gymnasts. The second aim was to find out whether there were any changes in movement coordination performance related to the various points of time in a day. The selection of children with rhythmic sports gymnastics (RSG) starts at their very early age. The main reason is that the top results are expected to be achieved at the age of 14 to 16 years, the age at which the maximum development of the motor abilities can be expected. Up till now all the accessible studies have underlined the great significance of the coordination and the flexibility development at the age of 6 and 7 years, for these are the most important motor abilities in the selection for RSG. As far as the authors know, no scientist has tried before to make a study presenting the results of the research in the field of coordination level changes related to the various points of time in a day. The hypothesis is that the effect of the training (RSG technique learning) is not the same at various points of time in a day. The obtained results could be important for the planning of the practice sessions when different periods of a day are concerned. Aus der EInleitung (erweitert und geändert)
