Die häufigste Verletzung beim Snowboarden stellt nach wie vor mit mehr als 50 % aller Verletzungen der handgelenknahe Bruch speziell bei Anfängern dar. Der Einsatz von im Snowboardhandschuh integrierten Handgelenkschienen könnte diese häufigste Verletzung auf 1/4 reduzieren. Das Tragen von Schutzausrüstungen und Helmen sollte dringend empfohlen werden und macht neben den Wettkampfdisziplinen speziell beim Freeriden aber auch bei Kindern und jugendlichen Snowboardern Sinn. Since the Olympia Winter-Games in Nagana 1998 Snowboarding is established as a popular wintersports for youth and adults. The most affected body region reported in a lot of snowboard injury studies are the wrists with 35 % and more then 50 % of severe injuries, especially for beginners. Wrist braces are effective protecting snowboard beginners against wrist injuries. Male snowboarders up to the age of 16 and female snowboarders over the age of 25 have a higher risk of injury. Snowboarders should not use ski boots and should be careful with rented equipment. Body and limb-protecting systems and also snowboard-specific helmets can reduce the injury risk for alpine racers, freestylers and also freeriders. Snowboardtraining is important to provide injuries especially for beginners, icy slopes should be avoided. Verf.-Referat
